Band 7 model answer

It is often argued that the possible decline of educational standards. Although some people exaggerate decline because education has changed, I believe that real problems still exist in attention, inequality, and teaching resources.

A major reason is that high standards depend on skilled teachers and consistent expectations. In practical terms, students make progress when feedback explains how to improve rather than only giving a mark. This can lead to stronger understanding and confidence. In addition, reading, writing, and problem-solving should remain central.

Nevertheless, the disadvantages should not be ignored. screen distraction and passive learning can weaken concentration. Another concern is that unequal family support also widens achievement gaps. These problems may reduce the value of the policy or behaviour if no safeguards are provided.

For these reasons, I would argue that raising standards requires both school reform and learning culture. Governments should invest in teacher development, early support, and balanced assessment.
